If you're a foodie, the Bourough Market is the market to visit in London.
It's a free-range, fair-trade, organic, heirloom, artisanal smorgasbord for foodies of all stripes. Needless to say, I was in paradise. For lunch, we had a Pork and Stilton burger (the most sublime "hamburger" I've eaten anywhere), a spicy chicken roll (something like a pasty but in a puff pastry roll), some organic fresh fruit (peaches and pears), and a "flapjack" (not a pancake -- more of a gooey dessert bar made out of oatmeal w/ chocolate chips). I also visited Vinopolis's Majestic wine store (somewhat disappointing on this trip) and the Whiskey Exchange (which is a great source for single malts). The market is mostly open to the general public on Thursday-Saturday. Needless to say, we'll pay it a visit on the return journey to London too. Had the timings worked out differently, I like to shop here for foodstuffs to cook at the flat. But, I think we'll eat out tonight in order to give us more time to prepare for the cruise's departure tomorrow.
